The book ‘Khial-e Mahtab’ was unveiled
According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Mashhad, the unveiling ceremony of the book ‘Khial-e Mahtab’ by Leila Mir (Mahtab) was held at the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research of Mashhad.
Mohammad Haghighatkhah, the publisher of this book and secretary of the Khorasan Penmen Writers’ Association, noted at the ceremony, while appreciating the author’s efforts: ‘Poetry, this precious heritage of our ancestors, has long been a companion to solitude, a balm for broken hearts, and the eloquent language of pure human emotions. From Rudaki Samarqandi to Hafez Shirazi, Ferdowsi, and others, the poets of this land, with their magical words, have not only preserved our history and culture but have also built a bridge between generations, so that future generations may also drink from this gushing spring of knowledge.’
He stated: ‘In an age when the speed of technology has stolen our opportunity to think, and the clamor of modern life has deafened our ears, composing and writing poetry is not merely an art, but a necessity. Poetry takes us to our solitude, travels into the depths of our being, and opens a window to the world of our feelings and emotions. Poetry is the language of the heart, and what language is more eloquent and expressive than that?’
The secretary of the Khorasan Penmen Writers’ Association stated: ‘The book ‘Khial-e Mahtab’ is also a step in this direction. Ms. Leila Mir, with her abundant talent and unparalleled ingenuity, has depicted novel and delightful images of love, hope, longing, and life in this collection.’
The manager of Simorgh-e Khorasan Publishers described the poems in ‘Khial-e Mahtab’ as being in the free verse (white style), ghazal, do-bayti (quatrain), and improvisation styles, adding: ‘Her poems are a mirror in which one can see both the beauties of the world and feel the sufferings of humanity.’
Haghighatkhah continued: ‘The publication of this book, for us at Simorgh-e Khorasan Publishers, is not just a cultural duty, but a tribute to Persian poetry and literature, and an effort to support young and talented poets like this author. We believe that supporting art and artists is an investment for a brighter future and a richer culture.’
In another part of this session, Javad Naimi, a Khorasani writer, stated: ‘The pen name ‘Mahtab’ and also ‘Khial,’ which are very common among literati in poetic language, indicate Ms. Mir’s deep mastery of contemporary Persian literature.’
Naimi continued: ‘She has also spoken of the beauty of Persian literature by composing poems that address the word ‘khial’ (imagination/fantasy) in Persian poetry.’
The ceremony was attended by a large number of poets, writers, members of the Khorasan Penmen Writers’ Association, and the poet’s family.
