Literary Gathering and Introduction of the Book «Farangis» Held in Zahedan Prison
According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Zahedan, on the occasion of Book and Reading Week, a literary gathering and introduction ceremony for the book «Farangis» was held in the women’s ward of Zahedan Central Prison, in cooperation with the Imam Hossein (AS) Public Library.
At this literary gathering, excerpts from the book «Farangis», written by Mahnaz Fattahi, were group-read. Following this, the memories and bravery of Farangis Heidarpour, a courageous woman from the Sacred Defense era, were discussed, explaining to those present how this heroic woman managed to capture an enemy soldier with exemplary courage. Farangis Heidarpour is a woman whose statue is currently installed in Shirin Park, Kermanshah. The Supreme Leader, in describing her valor, stated: “In your city, a brave Muslim woman, in defense, was able to capture an enemy soldier and crush the invading force; keep this for yourselves and preserve it.”
Continuing the program, a cultural competition was held among the inmates, and prizes were awarded by the Public Libraries Institution to the randomly selected winners of this competition.
This cultural session was organized with the active participation of librarians Ms. Thori and Ms. Samavaki from the Imam Hossein (AS) Public Library in Zahedan, and was met with significant enthusiasm from the inmates present at the ceremony.
