According to Khabar Online news agency from Qazvin; “Zohreh Torkaman”, the director of Qazvin National Documents and Library, announced that the family of the late Hajj Yousef Fayyazi (Qousaz) donated 630 copies of old books and publications to this center, which include 246 copies of legal, religious, and historical books, and 385 old publications, newspapers, and magazines dating back to the 1950s (Shamsi calendar).

She noted that the late Fayyazi’s textbooks are preserved in the provincial archive as part of the historical memory of Qazvin’s educational system. This collection includes 30 titles, among them “Fava’id al-Adab” by Mirzā Abdolazim Khān Gorgāni, “Sayyid al-Inshā Novozohur” by Mohammad Mahdi ibn Mohammad Nasir Astrābādi, “Usul-e Hendeseh” (Principles of Geometry) by Mirzā Rezā Khān Mohandes al-Molk Mo’allem, and “Sharh al-Nudar” in Persian and French by Mo’tamed al-Soltan Hāji Mirzā Hossein Khān Nāyeb.

The director of Qazvin National Documents and Library added that these books were printed between 1283 and 1323 SH (1904-1944 CE) using lithographic printing in printing houses such as Matba’a Dar al-Islam Baghdad, Matba’a Majles, Matba’a Ganj-e Danesh, and the Ministry of Education, Endowments and Fine Arts.

Torkaman further added: Hajj Yousef Fayyazi (Qazvin: 1921-2001) was among the devout merchants who, after the coup d’état of August 1953, became involved in Qazvin’s socio-political movements. He played a significant role in establishing Noor Printing House and publishing “Nejat-e Qazvin” newspaper. With the beginning of Imam Khomeini’s movement, he joined it, established the “Peyrovan-e Maktab-e Hosseini” (Followers of Hosseini’s School) society, and supported revolutionaries until the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Last year, the Fayyazi family donated 1,700 documents related to Qazvin’s political, social, and economic events from 1317 to 1380 SH (1938-2001 CE) to the Qazvin National Documents and Library Management.
