Largest Library in Northern Iran to Be Inaugurated in Rasht
According to Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Rasht, the largest library in northern Iran will be inaugurated in Rasht on Thursday morning, November 19, with the presence of Azadeh Nazarboland, Secretary-General of the Public Libraries Institution of the Country, Hadi Haqshanas, Governor of Gilan, and a group of national and provincial officials and media personnel.
Rasht Central Library, with its numerous book reservoirs, has the capacity to hold 250,000 copies of books on various subjects. It has been constructed as the largest public library in northern Iran with a concrete structure over 6 floors, covering an area of 8,200 square meters.
This library features various sections such as an amphitheater, book repository, separate study halls for men and women, a meeting room, a special section for the visually impaired and Braille, a reference books section, a lending section, a special and independent children’s section, a special section for seniors, periodicals, a dedicated study section for researchers, the library’s administrative section, book restoration and preparation, a special section for databases, a makerspace, a science and astronomy room, a reception hall, an exhibition gallery, and a prayer room.
