Literate Parents and Top Readers Honored at Minab Book Festival

Yasaman Abbasi, in an interview with the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Bandar Abbas, announced a book festival in Minab to mark Book, Reading, and Librarian Week, honoring literate parents and top readers. She stated that at a ceremony held on Sunday evening, the rural and nomadic reading community was recognized.

The director of the ‘Keloodang Book’ reading club, while appreciating the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Minab County, stated: The book-loving village of Dumeshahr hosted this festival, and in commemoration of Book Week, the top readers who are members of the Keloodang Book reading club were honored.

She added: In this event, children and teenagers who are members of the Keloodang Book reading club read aloud sections from the book ‘A Song for the Homeland’ written by Mohammad Dehrizi and ‘The Fairies of Liasand Maris’ written by Tahereh Eybod.

Abbasi further stated: Storytelling performance, honoring top readers, and appreciating parents who are active readers were among the other programs of the Dumeshahr village book festival.

According to IBNA, at the end of this festival, Mostafa Karimi, head of the Department of Culture and Guidance of Minab, donated one hundred volumes of new print books to the Keloodang Book reading club.
