Book Reading Promoter Donates Over 500 Books in Ilam

Abdolabbas Mohammadi, in an interview with the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Ilam, stated: ‘With the aim of developing the culture of knowledge and reading among various segments of society, especially teenagers and young adults, book donation is a continuous part of my annual planning.’

He continued: ‘Book Week is a cultural and social occasion to remind us not to forget reading and studying books.’

The veteran book reading promoter in Ilam province added: ‘Book and Reading Week is a good opportunity to focus more on the subject of books, so that the importance and necessity of this cultural behavior becomes more ingrained than ever.’

He further stated: ‘These books have been prepared by the Amir Abolfazl Ilam Charity Institute and have been provided to underprivileged and deprived families along with livelihood packages and necessary items.’

This book philanthropist, referring to the subjects of the donated books, noted: ‘The donated books are prepared and provided in categories such as religious texts, hadiths and prayers, stories, poetry and novels, ideological discussions, geography, Ilam studies, and Sacred Defense.’

This veteran book promoter in Ilam province, referring to the importance of books in individual and social vitality and joy, said: ‘Books and reading play a significant role in individual and social vitality, freshness, and joy. Whenever an individual has a happy and vibrant spirit, they undoubtedly transmit that vitality and freshness to society.’

Abdolabbas Mohammadi, born in 1951 in the border city of Mehran in Ilam province, holds a bachelor’s degree in educational sciences. He began donating books and establishing and equipping libraries in 1971 in the same city and then expanded it throughout the province. To date, he has distributed and donated over 240,000 books among various target communities in Ilam province and some cities in Iraq.’
