Lorestan Libraries Under Rented Roof / 123 Personnel Without Administrative Building
Seyed Ahmad Mousavi: According to Khabaronline News Agency from Lorestan, this situation indicates a level of neglect that is not justifiable and is not befitting such an institution. The General Directorate of Public Libraries of Lorestan Province, despite its extensive cultural and educational role, has been in this condition for years.
This directorate, despite having 123 personnel in the province, 40 institutional libraries, and 20 cooperative libraries, still lacks an independent administrative building and is relocated to a rented facility in one of Khorramabad’s areas each year.
The acting head of the General Directorate of Public Libraries of Lorestan Province, in a press conference with journalists, in response to a question from a Khabaronline reporter, said: ‘One of our priorities in this term is to determine the status of the administrative building. This situation is unacceptable for our organization and must be rectified.’
Elham Borna added: ‘In this regard, various meetings have been held, and with the emphasis of the governor, one of the provincial administrative buildings was allocated for our use; however, due to the building being shared with another organization, it was not possible for us to use it.’
She emphasized: ‘We are definitely seriously pursuing an end to the current situation and the provision of a suitable administrative building for this cultural institution, and we will certainly inform the media of the results soon.’
The mission of the new acting head of this cultural institution in this area is very decisive. The fundamental question now is whether she, like some previous managers, will merely content herself with completing her managerial term and ignore the important issue of stabilizing the administrative structure, or can one hope that during her management, a dignified administrative building for the province’s public libraries institution will finally be secured, and this chronic problem will be solved forever.
