Book Week Programs Announced at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults in Ilam Province

Fatemah Rastegar, in an interview with an Ilam correspondent for the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), announced that diverse Book Week programs will be held in all cultural and artistic centers of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoun) in Ilam Province.

She added that book lending, introduction, public readings, loud readings, critical reviews, meetings with authors and illustrators, virtual book introductions, podcast and clip creation, and unveiling ceremonies are among the successful and influential methods employed by Kanoun instructors. These initiatives aim to develop and expand the culture of books and reading among child and adolescent members of the cultural and artistic centers.

Rastegar further stated that the Ilam Province Kanoun, through the efforts of its instructors, utilizes books as an effective cultural tool. This tool facilitates the transfer of educational concepts through various cultural, artistic, and literary activities at the province’s centers for its young members.

She emphasized that all activities of the Kanoun’s cultural and artistic centers during Book and Reading Week will be centered around books, under the slogan “Let’s Read for Iran.”

The Book and Reading Week programs will encompass special cultural, artistic, literary, scientific, and research initiatives across all provincial centers. This will culminate in a grand Book Festival titled “On the Wings of Books,” attended by provincial officials, instructors, and avid readers. Over 100 dedicated young readers from Kanoun’s cultural and artistic centers throughout the province will be honored at this event.

Rastegar also mentioned that other programs for the Book Week include: a book review and critique session for instructors titled “Intimately with Books,” a literary association meeting for members, the unveiling of the book “Sweet Salt” by Morteza Hatami (an expert from the General Directorate), and a special Book Cafe program at the Mehran cultural and artistic center.

She highlighted book donation as a cultural program that significantly aids in developing and expanding the culture of books and reading. During this week, books and cultural products will be donated to children and adolescents at the Ameneh Orphanage.

The Director General of the Ilam Province Kanoun concluded by stating that literary sessions, meetings with authors and poets in various cities, and reading competitions in all cultural and artistic centers of the provincial Kanoun will also be part of the Book and Reading Week.
