Explaining the programs of the 33rd Book Week in Ilam

Ali Helshi, in an interview with the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Ilam, announced extensive planning for the commemoration of Book Week in the province and said: This year, with the formation of a special Book Week policymaking council, various programs aimed at promoting reading culture and literacy will be held in the province.

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Ilam Province continued: Renewing allegiance with martyrs and dusting the graves of unknown martyrs in Ilam city, and meeting with the honorable representative of the Supreme Leader in the province and the Friday Prayer leader of Ilam, with the presence of provincial officials, publishers, authors, and book and reading promoters, are among the programs of this week.

He, referring to the importance of targeted distribution and donation of books among various target communities, said: Books will be donated to the county’s Culture and Islamic Guidance departments, schools, mosques, deprived and less developed areas, and primary schools to encourage students to read and promote reading throughout Book Week by the General Directorate’s book center.

Helshi continued: Visits to bookstores in cooperation with the Bookstore Union, reviewing issues and problems of bookstores, unveiling new publications, book reviews and critiques, holding reading competitions, and unveiling dozens of new book titles will be implemented this week.

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Ilam Province stated: Honoring activists and servants of the publishing sector and unveiling new publications of works printed in 2025, authors, and activists of the publishing sector are among other programs of this General Directorate. This ceremony is one of our important and prominent programs during Book Week, in which publishers, authors, book promoters, writers, booksellers, editors, designers, and enthusiasts of the book sector will be appreciated.

He noted: Honoring activists in the field of reading in book-loving villages and nomads, and the Clubs Cup with the accompaniment of public library officials throughout Book Week, are other measures of the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Ilam Province in the 33rd period of Book and Reading Week.

The 33rd Book Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be held from November 14th to 20th, 2025, across the country with the slogan “Let’s Read for Iran.”
