Commemoration Ceremony for the 40th Day of Samineh Baghcheban’s Passing at Book Garden
A ceremony marking the 40th day since the passing of Samineh Baghcheban, the renowned Iranian author and translator, was held at Tehran’s Book Garden with a gathering of cultural and literary figures. During the ceremony, speakers discussed various aspects of the life and literary works of this distinguished lady, honoring her memory. Samineh Baghcheban, daughter of Jabbar Baghcheban (father of deaf education in Iran), played a significant role in children’s and young adult literature, as well as in translating prominent works of world literature into Persian. Her works include the translation of “The Little Prince” and the authorship of children’s stories. Attendees emphasized the importance of preserving her literary heritage and promoting her works, referring to her cultural services. Portions of her books were also read aloud to those present.
