University Publishing Center announces programs for Book Week
According to Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), the University Publishing Center, one of Iran’s oldest university publishers, has begun a new chapter in its scientific, research, and cultural activities. To mark the 33rd annual Book Week, it is organizing academic meetings centered on books and reading.
On Saturday, Aban 24th, from 3 PM to 5 PM, a seminar titled «Author Rights and Book Publishing» will be held with the participation of the Iranian Intellectual Property Rights Association and the Iranian University Publishers Association. Attendees will include Abbasi Hosseini Nik, head of the University Publishers Association, and Safar Beigzadeh, faculty member of the Research Institute of Science and Technology of Iran.
On Sunday, Aban 25th, from 4 PM to 6 PM, a seminar on «The Role of Editing in University Books» will be held in collaboration with the Association of Persian Language and Literature. Speakers will be Gholamhossein Gholamhosseinzadeh, faculty member of Tarbiat Modares University, and Hayedeh Abdolhosseinzadeh, Manager of Supply and Production at the University Publishing Center.
On Monday, Aban 26th, from 3 PM to 5 PM, a seminar on «Digital Book, Digital Citizen» will be held with the participation of Shahr-e Ketab (Book City). The event will feature Mehdi Firouzan, a prominent cultural figure and former CEO of Shahr-e Ketab; Amir Masoud Shahramnia, head of the University Publishing Center; and Ali Jafar-Abadi, CEO of Shahr-e Ketab.
Furthermore, a seminar titled «Book as a Medium» will take place on Tuesday, Aban 27th, from 3 PM to 5 PM at the University Publishing Center. Speakers will include Somayeh Labafi, faculty member of the Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology, and Hamed Zare, Editor-in-Chief of Iran Book News Agency.
On Wednesday, Aban 28th, an «Interdisciplinary Studies Workshop on Science and Society Communication» will be held with the participation of the Association for the Promotion of Science. Speakers will be Zahra Ojaq, faculty member of the Research Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies, and Setareh Bonyadi, Assistant Minister of Cultural Heritage for New Technologies.
These programs, in addition to online coverage in virtual spaces, will be held in the conference hall of the Publishing Center located at No. 50, Tenth Alley, corner of Shahid Seyed Hassan Nasrallah (Vozara) Street, Dr. Beheshti Street.
