Unveiling of the Children’s Santour Instrument at Arasbaran Cultural Center

According to Mehr News Agency, quoting the public relations of Arasbaran Cultural Center, the unveiling ceremony of the children’s santour instrument and the educational book will be held on Friday, November 7th (16 Aban), at 6 PM, with the presence of several music masters and the participation of the Santour Research Institute at Arasbaran Cultural Center.

This instrument, named “Children’s Santour,” was designed by Davood Shirazi at the Santour Research Institute.

Davood Shirazi has also simultaneously published the Children’s Santour book with the aim of teaching music to children using Iranian instruments.

The Children’s Santour has been designed by simplifying the santour instrument so that children can learn music using Iranian instruments instead of Western instruments like the glockenspiel and Western methods like Orff. Additionally, the bridges of these instruments are designed in color, and only the left-side bridges are used, and some of the santour strings have been reduced in this instrument so that the child can easily learn to play the instrument.

In the book published for teaching this instrument, by simplifying the notes, children can even learn some radifs with specially designed poems.

In this program, Davood Shirazi, the author of the book, and several santour artists, including Pouya Saraei, will speak about the instrument and the aforementioned book.

Children’s music performance with the Children’s Santour and playing thematic clips related to the instrument and the aforementioned book are among other parts of the program.
