Unveiling of the Poster ‘Hamkhaan; Mark of Iran Public Library’

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), quoting the General Department of Public Relations and International Affairs of the Public Libraries Institution of the country, on Tuesday evening (November 3rd), a consultative meeting between the Secretary-General of the Institution and professors of Information Science and Knowledge Studies from Tehran universities was held at Noor Hayat Hotel.

During this meeting, with the presence of the Secretary-General and senior managers of the institution, Mohammad Zarehsaz and Saeid Rezaei Sharifabadi, professors of Information Science and Knowledge Studies, unveiled the poster ‘Hamkhaan; Mark of Iran Public Library’ and the special ceremony for ‘Book, Reading, and Librarian Day’.

The ‘Hamkhaan’ mark, as the national mark of Iran’s Public Library, is dedicated to individuals who have played an effective role in expanding the culture of reading and introducing the capacities of public libraries across the country. This mark is a symbol of honoring efforts that keep the light of reading alive and bring libraries closer to people’s lives.

This mark, as part of the transformation path in the country’s Public Libraries Institution, has been designed with a user-centric approach, cultural justice, and social impact, striving to define a new place for the library in people’s lives; a library that is not only a place for borrowing books but also a platform for learning, dialogue, and harmony.
