Holding a Children’s Book Exhibition in Qazvin

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), Ali Houshmand stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran Book Week is an opportunity to promote reading culture across the country, adding: In Qazvin province, the programs for this cultural event are implemented in cooperation with various organizations, including the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, public libraries, municipalities, and cultural associations, to increase public access to books and familiarity with local authors.

He added: For this edition of Iran’s Book Week, we have planned various programs to promote reading culture in the province. This edition aims to expand the culture of reading among families, children, and teenagers. We hope that the programs will be held not only in the provincial capital but also in other cities to achieve cultural justice.

Houshmand also referred to the province’s programs for the 33rd event and continued: Unveiling of the ‘Neighborhood Book Companions’ poster to encourage group reading in each neighborhood, book unveiling and signing ceremonies to introduce the latest works by the province’s authors, and holding workshops for publishers and story workshops are among Qazvin province’s programs for this edition of Iran’s Book Week.

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Qazvin Province further stated: Intimate meetings with booksellers, honoring publishing activists including authors, publishers, illustrators, and editors with the aim of appreciating their efforts in the book industry, commencing Book Week with a ‘book bell’ in one of the province’s schools, holding a children’s book exhibition in cooperation with the General Directorate of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults with the aim of institutionalizing reading culture in children, and a brainstorming session with prominent authors of the province are among other planned programs in the province.
