Use of New Technologies in Book Publishing

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Semnan, Amir Masoud Shahramnia stated at the signing ceremony of a cooperation memorandum of understanding between the University Publishing Center and Semnan University, held in the assembly hall of the complex: The utilization of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in the book publishing process has been placed on the agenda.

He added that they are seeking to utilize new methods and modern technologies in book publishing, stating: Scientific and research collaborations between Semnan University and the University Publishing Center can significantly contribute to this goal.

The head of our country’s University Publishing Center also stated regarding the signed memorandum of understanding: The development of joint activities with Semnan University in various fields, especially the publishing of university books, is one of the sections of this MOU that was signed by both parties today.

Shahramnia said that scientific and research collaborations between Semnan University and the University Publishing Center will expand from now on, adding: The preparation, editing, and publishing of books at the University Publishing Center will be carried out with the assistance of Semnan University, in accordance with this MOU.

He further stated that this MOU is also considered a valuable step towards improving the quality of book publishing, adding: Organizing book exhibitions with Semnan University as the focal point is another section of the signed memorandum of understanding.

The head of the University Publishing Center of the country said that indexing scientific works in reputable international databases and preparing its infrastructure is another part of the said MOU, adding: Scientific and technological collaborations between Semnan University and the University Publishing Center are among the other axes of the aforementioned memorandum of understanding.

Shahramnia continued his remarks by highlighting the necessity of strengthening the international presence of our country’s university works, stating: Given the existing capacities in universities, there is potential for international presence, and universities must strengthen themselves in this area.

He stated that universities’ participation in presenting scientific works at a global level is not out of reach, as there are good capacities in our country’s universities, adding: The creation of a joint database of scientific and publishing resources is one of the issues we emphasize.

The President of Semnan University also remarked at the ceremony, referring to the signing of the cooperation memorandum of understanding between the university and our country’s University Publishing Center: This MOU can be the beginning of a path towards the qualitative and quantitative development of publications at Semnan University.

Seifollah Sa’dollah stated that the utilization of technological capacities is among the sections of this MOU, and Semnan University has announced its readiness in this regard, adding: Strengthening the university’s position in the field of scientific publishing is one of our goals in signing this cooperation memorandum of understanding.

He further stated that they are seeking to enhance the university’s position in publishing, adding: Expanding scientific interactions and improving the quality of research and publishing activities at Semnan University are among our other goals in signing the cooperation memorandum of understanding with our country’s University Publishing Center.
