The “Daughter of the Fire Army” is Prone to Linguistic and Historical Slips

Masoud Adhami, a researcher and critic, criticized the book “Daughter of the Fire Army”, stating that it contains linguistic and historical errors due to insufficient research.

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), Adhami analyzed the novel “Daughter of the Fire Army” (دختر اردوی آتش) by Samira Asghari. He noted that the book, whose main topic is Quds, suffers from numerous linguistic and historical inaccuracies, primarily due to the author’s lack of in-depth research.

Adhami highlighted that the book’s narrative frequently uses phrases and structures that are not characteristic of literary Persian, and some parts appear to be literal translations from Arabic without proper adaptation. This linguistic weakness, he argued, detracts from the overall quality of the work and makes it less engaging for Persian readers.

Furthermore, the critic pointed out several historical inaccuracies, particularly in the depiction of events related to Quds and the Palestinian struggle. He emphasized that for a book dealing with such sensitive and historically significant topics, meticulous research is paramount to ensure the credibility and educational value of the work.

Adhami suggested that while the author’s intent might have been noble, the execution falls short, leading to a work that could inadvertently mislead readers regarding historical events. He concluded by stressing the importance of thorough academic and historical research for any literary work addressing historical subjects.
