First Book Advisory Council Formed in Kashmar

Kashmar has established its first official Book Advisory Council, an initiative aimed at enhancing the city’s reading culture and improving public library services. The council, comprised of local educators, librarians, authors, and community representatives, will provide recommendations on book acquisition and literacy programs.

The inaugural meeting, held at the Kashmar Public Library, saw participants discussing strategies for promoting reading among various age groups and addressing the specific needs of the local community. The council emphasized the importance of diverse collections and accessible library facilities.

Mr. Javad Karimi, the head of the Kashmar Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, stated that the council’s formation is a crucial step towards making Kashmar a more book-friendly city. He expressed hopes that their collective expertise will lead to innovative approaches in promoting literature.

Future plans include organizing regular reading events, workshops, and fostering collaboration with schools and cultural institutions. The council also aims to review existing library policies and suggest improvements for greater community engagement.
