Equipping Qom Village Libraries with Book Donations
Rural libraries across Qom Province have received a significant boost in their resources through a new initiative focused on book donations. This program, spearheaded by the Provincial Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, aims to enhance access to reading materials for villagers.
Over 5,000 volumes of books, covering various genres from educational and scientific texts to children’s literature and fiction, were distributed to 15 village libraries. The initiative seeks to promote a culture of reading in remote areas and support local communities.
The head of the Department, Mr. Ahmad Rezaei, emphasized the importance of this project in bridging the gap between urban and rural access to knowledge. He highlighted plans for similar initiatives in the future, including setting up mobile libraries.
Librarians in the recipient villages expressed gratitude for the donations, noting a significant increase in visitor numbers and borrowing rates. They believe these new books will greatly benefit students and general readers alike, fostering intellectual growth.
