Biography Book of Martyr Reza Sanjarani Unveiled in Mashhad

Here is the finalized and coherent news article about the unveiling ceremony of the biographical book dedicated to martyr Mohammadreza Sanjarani.

MASHHAD – The unveiling ceremony of the book “I Just Love This Reza Sanjarani,” which includes the memoirs of martyr Reza Sanjarani, along with those of his family and friends, was held in Mashhad with the presence of a group of national and provincial cultural directors.

According to Mehr News Agency, the unveiling ceremony of “I Just Love This Reza Sanjarani,” the latest written narrative about the life of the Defenders of the Shrine martyr Mohammadreza Sanjarani, took place in Mashhad in the presence of the martyr’s family and comrades, a group of cultural figures, and book enthusiasts. The main focus of the event was to re-examine the genuine and unpretentious persona of a martyr whom his friends remember not only through the battlefield, but also through his jokes, friendships, seriousness, and ordinary life.

This ceremony was held at the Ketabsan Family Hub, with the attendance of Mohammadmehdi Dadman, Head of the Art Bureau of the Islamic Revolution; Hojatoleslam Mohammadreza Zaeeri; Majid Asgari, Head of the Art Bureau of the Islamic Revolution in Khorasan Razavi; Haj Ali Pirasteh, a Sacred Defense narrator and friend of the martyr; Haj Mehdi Akbari, a eulogist and friend of the martyr; Mohsen Zolfaghari, the author of the work; as well as the family and comrades of martyr Sanjarani.

The event was hosted by Amin Ghaffari, and during parts of the ceremony, rare photos and videos of the martyr were screened for the attendees.

During the program, the book was unveiled in the presence of the aforementioned guests as well as the martyr’s mother and wife.

“I Just Love This Reza Sanjarani” is the result of Mohsen Zolfaghari’s research into the life of Mohammadreza Sanjarani; a research that does not rely solely on the memories of others about him.

A significant portion of the book’s narrative is shaped in the words of the martyr himself, and the author has tried to bring his own voice into the narrative of his life by utilizing videos, audio files, handwritten notes, and surviving interviews left behind by Sanjarani.

Another half of the book is shaped through the memories of family, friends, and fellow combatants.

This very feature became one of the main axes of the unveiling ceremony: that the narrative of martyrs can only connect with the new generation when it portrays them just as they were; with their everyday life, humor, camaraderie, ups and downs, choices, and even their human contradictions.

Reza Sanjarani had a well-known personality among his friends and comrades; a figure whom a segment of the audience already knew prior to the book’s publication from the videos and jokes left from the era of his presence in Syria.

However, the book has tried to move beyond this brief and fragmented image and present a more complete picture of him; from his childhood, family, and friendships to his work life, presence on the battlefield, and ultimately martyrdom in Deir ez-Zor.

In the book’s preface, the author also emphasizes that his goal was to show the “real Agha Reza”; a personality who, in his narrative, possesses both mistakes and rebelliousness, as well as code of honor, epic, and transcendence.
