Seyed Abbas Salehi: Fani is rare in contemporary history
According to Khabaronline from IRNA, the memorial service for Kamran Fani, the late writer, translator, and librarian, was held this morning, Tuesday, at the National Library’s Qalam Hall.
Seyed Abbas Salehi, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, stated that he came to pay tribute. He said: People who have different functions do not perform equally in all sections, but Kamran Fani was an author, researcher, editor, encyclopedia director, and editor, and his score was never average in any section.
He added: A lot of energy is required for someone to get good marks in all functions, but Fani was outstanding in these fields. As an editor, a significant part of his legacy remains in editing; he worked here where we are present as a librarian and was even the founder of some areas in Persian librarianship.
Salehi continued: This characteristic of being outstanding and not being average in any field was his prominent feature, and we rarely find his equal in contemporary centuries and recent years.
The Minister of Culture said: Fani’s work for entering different fields was not average, and in every field he wrote or spoke, he was good to excellent, and this is very valuable. Another important feature of him is the moral virtues that were mentioned in the gathering.
He concluded by wishing: May Fani’s path be well-followed.
