“Fatimah is Ali”; An Inspiring Narrative and a Lasting Model

Fatemeh Ja’fari, a librarian at Ayatollah Maqdasi Public Library in Mahallat, discussed the analysis of the book “Fatimah is Ali” in an interview with the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Arak, on the occasion of the birthday of Hazrat Fatimah Zahra (S.A.). She said: “In short and eloquent stories, the author presents four chapters of this luminous life before the audience. The first chapter, titled ‘Birth of Two Lights,’ deals with the birth and growth of these two infallibles, and the second chapter, named ‘Union of Two Seas,’ narrates the sweet stories of the beginning of their shared life.”

She continued: “The third chapter, titled ‘Story of Life,’ is full of narratives about simple living, love, companionship, and shared responsibility in the home; scenes that depict a tangible manifestation of sacrifice, empathy, and affection.”

According to Ja’fari, in the final chapter, titled ‘In Separation of the Companion,’ the reader accompanies the bitterness of the moments of martyrdom of Hazrat Zahra (S.A.) and the peak of the loneliness of Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.); a narrative that makes one’s soul tremble and recalls the depth of their oppression.”

She added: “‘Fatimah is Ali’ has been published by Jamkaran Publications and is accessible to teenagers and adults with its simple and fluid prose. This book is not just a review of history; rather, it is a practical lesson plan for married life, where the beauty of shared work, partnership in the home, respect, and love are manifested not in words, but in the behavior of this celestial couple.”

The librarian recommended reading this book to young couples who are about to start their life together and said: “This book can be a guiding light for families and present the authentic and traditional Islamic perspective on love, companionship, and partnership in life to today’s generation.”
