It will be aired on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 7 PM on Channel 4 of IRIB.
Reza Abbasi, the director of the documentary “Wisdom in the Sphere of Literature,” said: Dr. Hakimah Dabiran is a rare example of the synthesis of family authenticity, academic endeavor, and cultural impact. She is not only an authority in the field of Persian literature but has also played a crucial role in educating generations of university students, expanding the Persian language, and in key cultural and academic institutions.
Regarding Dabiran’s childhood and upbringing, he stated: One of the most fascinating parts of the research for this documentary was getting acquainted with Professor Hakimah Dabiran’s family environment; an environment where the Quran, poetry, calligraphy, and the Arabic language were taught to her as part of daily life.
He emphasized: The role of Dabiran’s father, Professor Gholamreza Dabiran, was very prominent in shaping her scientific personality, and the production team tried to portray these cultural roots in the film.
Abbasi further explained: This hardworking woman’s presence in the Faculty of Literature at the University of Tehran and studying under great masters like Dr. Seyyed Ja’far Shahidi, Dr. Sadat Naseri, and Dr. Ahmad Mahdavi Damghani was a significant point in shaping her literary and cultural personality, which is depicted in the film through the professor’s pleasant narration.
The director of the documentary “Wisdom in the Sphere of Literature” also mentioned Dabiran’s managerial roles and executive activities, saying: Her presence in responsibilities such as the presidency of Al-Zahra University, research vice-presidency of Kharazmi University, membership in the Supreme Council of Cultural and Social Women, and multiple cultural missions abroad show other aspects of her personality that have been discussed less often.
Abbasi added: Dr. Dabiran has had numerous scholarly trips to countries such as Syria, Tajikistan, India, and Malaysia, and she spent time at Harvard University to research Shabestari’s “Golshan-e Raz.” The film also introduces us to this aspect of her life.
He emphasized: The documentary “Wisdom in the Sphere of Literature” is an effort to introduce a learned woman who is a clear example of the capabilities of women in this land; women who have made a serious contribution to Iran’s literary and cultural sphere.
Abbasi concluded: Dr. Hakimah Dabiran is undoubtedly one of the cherished cultural and scholarly figures of Iran, and the story of her life can be inspiring for future generations of university students.
