The Assembly of Specialized and Large Libraries of Shiraz was formed

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Shiraz, with the aim of synergy, convergence, and cooperation among prominent and large libraries of Shiraz, and at the suggestion of the head of Shahid Ayatollah Dastgheib Public Library and the accompaniment of the management of the National Archives and Library of Iran, Southern Region, a meeting was held with the presence of the directors of these two complexes and the directors and representatives of the Central Libraries of Shiraz University and Medical Sciences, the holy shrines of Shahcheragh and Ayatollah Zabarjad Shrine, the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), Education (students), Shiraz City Council Research Center, the Library and Technical Archive of Fars Regional Water Company, and the Libraries of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults in Shiraz. The Assembly of Specialized and Large Libraries of Shiraz, with the acronym Maktab Shiraz, was formed.

In this meeting, while briefly introducing the capacities and services of each library, the necessity for greater interaction was emphasized, and discussions were held regarding the implementation of strategies for introducing prominent libraries, accelerating and facilitating access for users and researchers to each other’s information resources, and holding joint scientific and cultural meetings.
