Secrets of Creative Writing Unveiled in Khorramabad
According to the correspondent of Iran’s Book News Agency (IBNA) in Khorramabad, a “Creative Writing” workshop, taught by Jamaluddin Akrami, was held on Wednesday at Center No. 2 Khorramabad. It was specifically for trainers and literary liaisons of the Lorestan centers of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoun), organized by the literary creations department and the education and research unit of Kanoun Lorestan province.
During this session, Jamaluddin Akrami elaborated on creative writing topics in the workshop and emphasized the importance of identifying various trends among writers in the fields of fictional (fiction) and non-fictional (non-fiction) literature.
He added: “The field of literature is not limited to poetry and stories; aspects such as scientific stories, adult literature, and Nimai and free verse poetry should also be considered, especially given the existing connection between teenagers and adults.”
Akrami stated that the most important goal of this workshop was to encourage trainers to collect and address the rich literature of Lorestan province. He said: “Your duty is to collect and produce Lorestan literature in the form of legends, songs, stories, and novels. It is your responsibility to advance local content production, either under the umbrella of Kanoun or independently, and strive for its publication.”
By citing an example from one of his own writings about Lorestan, which incorporated local atmospheres and songs, he highlighted the necessity of directly addressing the nomadic and rural life of Lorestan.
In the practical section of the workshop, Akrami emphasized the necessity of a trainer’s creativity as a prerequisite for students’ creativity, deeming exercises like ‘visualization with music’ important for strengthening descriptive powers and character development.
He stressed: “Trainers should encourage members’ productions and, after repeated edits, send the produced works to Kanoun for review and ultimately for publication.”
