World League of Imaginary Games
Children and Young Adults Service of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA): What amazing things could come out of an ordinary blue bag? This is a question that Muni’s class teacher asks them, wanting them to imagine what items might emerge from the bag and what wonderful games could be designed with them. The story begins with this simple question, and suddenly the children start designing creative games that no one has ever thought of before. For example, they design basketball without a ball and imagine their friend, who is not present at school, playing alongside them. With the help of their imagination, they do whatever they like and can enjoy and play without fear. These games gradually expand so much that they attract the attention of reporters and television programs, and everyone welcomes these imaginary games.
‘An Elephant Came Out of My Bag’ was written by Mert Arık. He has a method in writing his books: he always engages children’s minds with an imaginary topic, and at the end of the book, he asks them to share their opinions or drawings about it with him using a defined hashtag, which helps children connect more deeply with the book’s imaginary world. This book was illustrated by Sardar Toralı and translated into Persian by Nazli Khalili Safa. Safir Ardehal Publications, which purchased the publishing rights from its Turkish publisher, has made it available to interested readers for 100,000 Tomans.
