Holding a Book Fair at Bahabad Friday Prayer / Organizing Book Reading Circles in Mosques
According to the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Yazd, the Islamic Republic’s Book Week began on Aban 24th and continued until Aban 30th. During this week, various special programs centered on books were held across the country.
Yazd province also hosted various programs on this occasion to engage different segments of society with books and reading, and in this framework, public groups pursued their role by implementing various programs, some of which are as follows:
The Scent of Knowledge and Service in Bahabad Musalla; Presence of the Friday Imam at the Book Booth and Shahid Jalili’s Moukeb
After this week’s Friday prayer, the Friday Imam of Bahabad visited the book booth and the hospitality moukeb of Shahid Jalili Base, in the presence of cultural and jihadi servants.
During this visit, while appreciating the cultural and jihadi activities of the youth, he considered serving in the path of spreading the culture of reading and hosting believers as an example of ‘Jihad of Elucidation’ and emphasized the continuation of such public movements.
Honoring the Head and Librarians of Public Libraries in Mehriz
Coinciding with the 33rd period of the Week of Honoring Books, Reading, and Librarians, the Deputy Governor for Political, Security, and Social Affairs, the Commander of the Basij Resistance District, the representative of the Supreme Leader’s Office in the IRGC, and the Head of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, attended the public libraries in Mehriz city to honor the head and librarians of these libraries.
Donation of Over 40 Books to Students by a Poet from Mehriz
Coinciding with the Week of Honoring Books, Reading, and Librarians, Ms. Zurriyeh Tabatabai, a poet from the city, visited Akhtar Danesh Primary School in Mehriz and donated 40 copies of her book titled ‘I Want to Be a Police Officer’ to the students of this school.
The book ‘I Want to Be a Police Officer’, with the theme ‘Traffic Laws for Children’ and containing poems by Ms. Zurriyeh Tabatabai, was published in 2018 for age groups ‘B and C’.
Unveiling of the Book ‘Mashhadug’ in Ardakan
At a ceremony attended by the Friday Imam of Ardakan County, the book ‘Mashhadug’ was unveiled in Ardakan.
This 142-page book, divided into three chapters, re-examines the life of Imam Reza (AS) and meticulously surveys his travel route from Medina to Merv, particularly the section related to Ardakan County, including Kharanaq, Saghand, and Robat Posht Badam.
Setting Up a Book Lending Desk at Najafabad Grand Mosque
On the occasion of Book and Reading Week, a book lending desk was set up at Najafabad Grand Mosque in Yazd, in cooperation with the Isar Cultural Center.
First and second-grade students from Noorbakhsh School also attended to visit the books, exploring the collection at this book desk and getting acquainted with the books through storytelling.
