Holding the 21st Commemoration of Resistance Literature in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari
According to Khabaronline news agency from Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, the 21st Commemoration of Resistance Literature was held with the presence of librarians, writers, publishers, officials, and cultural activists. During this ceremony, three new endorsements by the Supreme Leader on the books ‘Lady Moon,’ ‘Incomplete Fever,’ and ‘Fellow Traveler of Fire and Snow’ were published.
Parvaneh Arzanesh stated at this ceremony: ‘Books are the foundation of cultural, social, and economic growth, and a society that does not institutionalize reading will not have a bright future.’
She added: ‘A society that distances itself from reading risks backwardness. Books are a guiding light for individuals and society and must move from shelves into homes, schools, and neighborhoods.’
Arzanesh, referring to the existing capacities of the province’s libraries, said: ‘Currently, more than one million and 77 thousand copies of books are available in libraries, about 40 thousand active members have registered, and the total physical space of the libraries reaches 24 thousand square meters.’
She continued: ‘Despite these capacities, we are still far from achieving the vision of cultural development and require the cooperation of families, educators, officials, and philanthropists for books to become part of people’s lives.’
The head of the province’s General Department of Public Libraries emphasized: ‘If we seek a healthy society, knowledgeable children, and a meaningful life, its path goes through books and reading. The future belongs to those who read and learn.’
