Book ‘Principles and Foundations of Student Publications’ Unveiled in Zanjan

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Zanjan, on the third day of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Book Week, the unveiling ceremony of the book ‘Principles and Foundations of Student Publications,’ written by Farhad Moradi and Maryam Rasouli, was held at Farhangian University of Zanjan Province.

At this ceremony, the President of Farhangian University, referring to the success of colleagues in the fields of science and knowledge, said: Farhangian University of Zanjan Province witnessed great successes in various fields last year.

Farzaneh Allahverdi pointed to achieving top ranks in the field of student publications and said: This book can be a good guide and facilitator for producing student publications.

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province also said at this ceremony: I am very happy to see that student publications are still strong, to the extent that someone feels the need to write a book about them.

Jafar Mohammadi continued: Those who today do professional media work or are major domestic and foreign analysts, all of them once started with student publications.

He added: Journalism is both love, art, science, and industry. Since I was entrusted with responsibility in the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province, numerous training workshops have been planned and implemented to enhance the knowledge level of journalists.

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province added: I believe the new generation can redesign the negative balance created in cyberspace in favor of society. Unfortunately, in producing content for cyberspace, we tend towards vulgarity, and this vicious cycle will not be broken except by the efforts of these young people and adolescents who are sitting and holding pens and writing their short notes to disrupt this balance in cyberspace. I hope Mr. Moradi’s book and his colleague’s work will open a new chapter for students’ interest in the profession of journalism.

Foumani, Assistant Professor at Farhangian University, then emphasized the important role of student publications in the growth of student-teachers, stating: Student publications can serve as workshops and life schools for students.

He added: Student publications provide an opportunity for teamwork. This university professor continued: Students’ responsibility increases through work in publications, and their enlightenment and awareness in society are elevated, and their oversight is strengthened.

Continuing the ceremony, Khatami, Deputy for Culture and Media of the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province, while congratulating the days of Book Week, presented some of the week’s programs.

He mentioned honoring publishing servants, honoring literary associations, and holding virtual competitions as some of this week’s activities, and thanked Farhangian University for its cooperation with the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province in implementing two programs: the Book Haiku Competition and the unveiling ceremony of the book ‘Principles and Foundations of Student Publications.’

Continuing the ceremony, Farhad Moradi, one of the authors of the book, explained the reasons for producing it, saying: The present book is a continuous, step-by-step guide for launching a student publication. The number of books published in this field is very small.

The author continued: Producing textual and visual content is one of the main characteristics of student publications, and adherence to law and familiarity with legal frameworks for producing publications are among other topics addressed in this book.

At the end of the ceremony, the Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Zanjan Province honored the efforts of the book’s authors by presenting a plaque of appreciation and a statue.
