Review of Mehrsa Audiobooks’ Activities and Outlook
According to the reporter of the Children and Adolescents Service of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), the second-anniversary ceremony for the production of Mehrsa Publications’ audiobooks was held yesterday in Tehran, attended by a group of presenters, voice actors, and experienced activists in the children’s field. This program focused on ‘Children’s Art and Literature and the Capacities of Audio Productions’ and provided an opportunity for dialogue, reviewing memories, and examining the outlook for next year’s productions.
In this ceremony, held in a warm and interactive atmosphere, figures such as Maryam Vatanpour, Giti Khameneh, Ali Froutan and Hamid Golli (Fitileh Uncles), Maryam Kazemi, Roya Fallahi, Shirin Sepehrad, Ardeshir Monazam, Marzieh Ebrahimi, and Pouya Safa (the books’ composer) were present.
One of the special segments of this program was ‘Childhood Menu’; a symbolic experience of returning to early childhood, designed using watercolors, colored paper, pastels, glue, and scissors. Guests, while participating in specialized discussions, engaged in making children’s crafts and revived shared memories of school and childhood games.
In the final section, a foam board commemorating the second anniversary of Mehrsa Audiobooks was signed by artists, and each wrote a sentence as a wish and gift for the future of this collection. Also, with the cutting of a birthday cake, the second anniversary of Mehrsa Audiobooks was celebrated, and the production team elaborated on the plans and goals for the coming year.
According to Ferdows Soleimani, the production manager of Mehrsa Publications’ audiobooks and the organizer of the event, the goal of this gathering was not merely to commemorate two years of activity in the field of children’s audiobooks, but also to create a synergistic space among artists, content producers, and activists in the children’s sector; a space for exchanging experiences and looking towards a future where audiobooks will have an established position as an effective medium in educating and entertaining children.
Over the past two years, Mehrsa Publications, by focusing on producing children’s and young adult audiobooks, collaborating with professional voice actors, and training a new generation of child narrators, has endeavored to provide a high-quality listening experience for young audiences.
At the end of the ceremony, the organizer, referring to the path ahead, announced that the third year of Mehrsa Audiobooks’ activity will be accompanied by broader development programs, including training child narrators, holding storytelling workshops, teaching storytelling to children, and expanding the publisher’s audio archive.
