30 diverse programs for promoting reading culture in Mazandaran province

According to Khabaronline from Mazandaran, Mohammad Mohammadi announced the implementation of over 30 diverse programs across the province to mark the 33rd Book Week, stating: The main goal of these programs is to promote reading culture, support authors and publishing industry activists, and expand public participation in the field of books and reading.

He added: For this purpose, correspondence has been made with the governorate to hold a meeting of the Book Week committee members, and it has been decided that district governors, under their own chairmanship, will form district committees with the secretariat of the departments of culture and Islamic guidance, and activity reports will be continuously sent to the committee’s secretariat. Consultations have also been held with the provincial General Directorate of Tax Affairs to provide tax exemptions for booksellers, in support of the publishing sector.

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Mazandaran mentioned the official opening of Book Week in Babol city and stated: Coordination has also been made with news agencies and domestic media to cover the programs of this year’s Book Week.
