Molavi Library is a Public Demand/We Should Not Lose More Time Than This
According to the reporter of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Shahrekord, Abdolali Arzang, during a field visit to Molavi and Amir Kabir libraries in Shahrekord, referring to the widespread public demand for the establishment of Molavi Library, stated: Today, many families in Shahrekord do not even have a suitable place to study for their children. Meanwhile, Molavi Library, as the standard library of the province, is semi-closed, and Amir Kabir Library is also on the verge of destruction.
Arzang added: Regarding Molavi Library, a series of reforms were envisioned, which were carried out last year in February by the former Director General of the General Directorate of Public Libraries of the Province due to necessity, and preliminary credit was also foreseen for it, which should have reached a conclusion but was subject to the passage of time and an increase in costs. During today’s visit, accompanied by the governor of Shahrekord and a group of officials, it was decided that the first phase of the repair and equipment project for this library should begin as soon as possible so that no more time is lost. Also, the Provincial Technical Council was mandated to make the necessary reforms in a joint meeting with the project consultant and to remove unnecessary parts of the plan so that, with the provision of funds and the follow-up of senior provincial officials, this library can return to service as soon as possible.
The Deputy Governor of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari also stated about Amir Kabir Library: Given the condition of the building, the Provincial Technical Council will conduct a specialized visit, and the final decision will be made at the Provincial Library Association meeting chaired by the Governor.
Emphasizing that libraries are not merely places for study but have extensive capacities in the field of cultural activities, he noted: At the next meeting of the Library Association, a full report on the situation will be presented, and necessary decisions will be made in the presence of the Governor.
Arzang said about the funding of the Molavi Library project this year: Given that provincial and national credits have been distributed and determined, and there is no specific line item for the repair and equipment of libraries, the task is difficult; but we are obliged to make the necessary follow-ups. Also, this project will be raised as one of the important cultural issues of the province in a proposal for the President’s trip to yield results.
