Hearing another’s voice to understand shared pains, dreams, and hopes / Message from the Secretary of the 33rd Book Week
According to Khabaronline News Agency, quoting the news headquarters of the 33rd Book Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Heidari, CEO of Iran’s House of Book and Literature and Secretary of the 33rd Book Week, wrote the following message on the occasion of the event’s commencement:
«With the start of the 33rd Book Week, we are once again reminded that a book is not only the written memory of a nation, but also a sanctuary of empathy and a common language for humans. In a time when divergence and social ruptures threaten our collective peace, a book can gather us under the umbrella of meaning, where differences turn into dialogue, and words build a bridge between hearts. A book is more than a tool for knowing; it is an opportunity to be together, to hear another’s voice, to understand shared pains, dreams, and hopes. In the shadow of books, we can achieve genuine and lasting joy, and surely this joy arises from understanding, empathy, and participation in building a brighter future. We, at Iran’s House of Book and Literature, consider ourselves your servants, and we strive with all our might to smooth the path for books in individual and collective life. We hope that this week is not just a commemoration of books, but a renewed pledge to the culture of reading, dialogue, and coexistence.»
