The book ‘Dinosaur’s Adventure in the Library’ unveiled in Bandar Abbas
According to the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Bandar Abbas, coinciding with the start of the 33rd Book and Reading Week of the Islamic Republic, the unveiling ceremony of the book ‘Dinosaur’s Adventure in the Library’ was held in the conference hall of Ayatollah Khamenei Andisheh Library in Bandar Abbas, with the presence of the book’s translator.
Anoushirvan Pishdar, Director General of Public Libraries of Hormozgan, emphasized the importance of illustration in children’s and young adult books at the ceremony, stating: “Illustration plays a crucial role in attracting children to books, and combining science and art in this field can strengthen the new generation’s interest in reading.”
He stated: “The intelligent selection of a book on the topic of books and reading for translation demonstrates the translator’s insight and capability in promoting a culture of reading.”
Pishdar added: “Expanding the culture of reading among children and families lays the groundwork for the cultural growth of society, and the public libraries of Hormozgan will utilize all their capacities in this path.”
Subsequently, Amirhossein Heidari, the book’s translator, explained that ‘Dinosaur’s Adventure in the Library’ is essentially a narrative aimed at familiarizing children more with libraries. He noted: “In the story, we see that through adventure, the function of a library, how to become a member and be present in a library, and side programs like storytelling sessions are explained from the perspective of children and their dinosaur friend.”
He added: “While in many stories related to dinosaurs, they are depicted as large, strange, and even frightening creatures, in this story we encounter a dinosaur with a strange interest in books, stories, and learning, and the central focus of his interest is being in the library and ultimately collaborating with the library and playing the role of a mobile library.”
Parvaneh Mandegari, secretary of the Chichika Literary Circle, stated: “The book ‘Dinosaur’s Adventure in the Library’ intelligently and in a story-within-a-story format introduces the library, including library rules, membership cards, and the mobile library, as well as the empathy and companionship of children.”
She expressed: “This book introduces libraries gently, and the choice of this book for translation is important. Today, by reading this book, we have come to understand that a word can give life to many things.”
The book ‘Dinosaur’s Adventure in the Library’, with 32 pages, written by ‘Julia Lo’ and illustrated by ‘Bi Line’, was translated into Persian for the first time by ‘Amirhossein Heidari’ and published by ‘Porsorkh’ publications.”
