Book ‘Central Bank’s Credit Policies’ Published;
According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), the latest work by the Money and Currency Market Press Institute, titled ‘Central Bank’s Credit Policies (from Qajar to Contemporary Era),’ has been released to the market.
This book, written by Mohammad Nadali and Fahimeh Mohebinia, with an introduction by Teimour Mohammadi, a faculty member of Allameh Tabataba’i University’s Faculty of Economics and head of its Economic Research Institute, has been published in 370 pages.
This work aims to explain the role of credit policies in the country’s economic system and to present a national model for credit policymaking in Iran. In six chapters, the authors address topics such as the duties and missions of the Central Bank, various types of monetary and credit policies, global experiences in credit guidance, the historical trend of Iran’s credit system from the Qajar era to the present, and a pathology of the current banking system’s structure.
With a critical and pathological view, the book examines the challenges of Iran’s credit system, including banking imbalances, concentration of credits in unproductive sectors, weakness of the supervisory structure, and shortage of modern financial instruments. Finally, the authors present a national model for credit policymaking for Iran’s economic development, which includes principles of credit governance, the country’s credit outlook, institutional frameworks, and executive strategies.
