Awarding the first Nima Literary Award to two luminaries of contemporary Iranian literature
According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Sari, Mohammad Mohammadi explained: The first Nima Literary Award was launched at the request of the community and experts in poetry and literature, to honor the literary standing of Nima Yooshij, the father of contemporary Iranian poetry.
He added: The permanent secretariat of the Nima Literary Award has been established in Noor County, and the birthplace of this great Mazandarani poet will host the closing ceremony of the first edition of this award on Sunday, November 15th, at 3 PM.
Mohammadi continued: This program will be held at the Payambar Azam Cultural and Artistic Complex in Royan, with the presence of many luminaries and intellectuals of Persian poetry and literature, as well as high-ranking cultural officials from the country and the province.
The Director-General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Mazandaran stated: The award’s scientific committee, chaired by Mansour Ali Asghari, a researcher of Nima’s works with a history of chairing scientific research conferences on Nima, Tabari language and poetry, “Ta Sobh Daman,” and several other literary conferences, through multiple specialized sessions, selected two prominent figures of contemporary Iranian literature as recipients of the first edition of this important literary event. The precious Nima insignia will be presented to them at the closing ceremony.
The Head of the Policy-Making Council of the first Nima Literary Award stated: At the closing ceremony, in addition to introducing the two award recipients, five well-known figures who have had cultural and artistic activities and productions in various fields related to Nima Yooshij will be honored.
Mohammadi announced: The members of this edition’s scientific and specialized committee included Davood Kiaghasemi, Leila Moshfegh, Ehsan Mahdian, and Alin Nejati.
