Book Walkway and Mobile Radio; Isfahan’s Innovative Experience to Attract Reading Audience

Mohammad Ali Jafari, in an interview with a reporter from the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Isfahan, announced the implementation of a series of special programs aimed at expanding the presence of books among the general public of Isfahan. He stated that these programs, alongside the main events of Book Week, are designed and implemented with a focus on attracting an audience, identifying cultural talents, and strengthening the reading movement.

Explaining the details of these initiatives, he added: Storytelling for children with cancer at Imam Hussein (AS) Hospital and public storytelling for citizens at Chahar Dar-e Naghsh-e Jahan are among the programs being held fieldwork-style with the aim of creating a shared cultural experience.

The Deputy for Cultural and Media Affairs of the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Isfahan Province, referring to the Book Walkway on Amadgah Street in Isfahan, said: This cultural passage has provided a direct link between people, books, and promotional activities.

He announced the implementation of the Book Radio in various parts of the city and added: This program, which introduces books, conducts short cultural discussions, and informs about related activities, operates mobilely throughout the city.

Jafari clarified: The Book Radio is designed with the aim of discovering the best voice for producing audiobooks and identifying narration talents. Identifying and introducing unknown readers and researchers is also one of our important programs, so that lesser-known figures in the field of books have an opportunity to be seen.

He referred to the ‘With Book Shine’ initiative and said: This program teaches students how to produce a book from the idea generation stage to writing, illustration, layout, and final preparation. Our goal is to train a creative and capable generation in the field of content production.

The Deputy for Cultural and Media Affairs of the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance announced: Given the breadth of these programs, their news coverage and broadcast on the Book Network can play a significant role in promoting the culture of reading, and we hope that with the cooperation of the media, the message of these events will be disseminated more widely throughout the city.
