“Bird in a Cage Continues” Unveiled
According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Hamadan, the commemoration ceremony and unveiling of Gholamreza Baktash’s latest work, titled “Bird in a Cage Continues,” was held by the Malayer Public Libraries with the presence of Seyed Rasoul Hosseini, the Governor of Malayer County.
The necessity of developing and promoting a culture of reading and writing in society
The Governor of Malayer stated at this ceremony: “Today, thanks to mourning ceremonies, people’s minds are focused on the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (AS).”
Seyed Rasoul Hosseini, while commending Gholamreza Baktash, said: “Professorship is the highest academic rank in universities worldwide, and your position is akin to this status.”
Hosseini addressed the topic of book authorship and noted: “Authorship is done in three forms: ‘compilation,’ ‘translation,’ and ‘writing mental outpourings.’ The more difficult and valuable work is bringing what comes to mind onto paper.”
The Governor of Malayer described “generational gap” and “gap between executive officials and the academic community” as two important challenges, stating: “Unfortunately, there is a disconnect between authors and executive officials, and we have not been able to establish this link between industry and academia.”
Hosseini, stating that “we must connect these chains,” said: “Today, our young generation needs books, in a world where virtual space threatens us with 250,000 malware every 24 hours.”
He also emphasized the necessity of developing and promoting a culture of reading and writing in society, adding: “Our promise to those in the literary field is to be able to publicize and culturalize their writings, which are a line from a thousand superior lasting memories.”
The Governor of Malayer, referring to the low per capita reading rate, noted: “We are grateful to authors and writers who strive to enlighten the thoughts and minds of all people, especially the young generation, in the field of authoring articles and books and holding scientific conferences.”
Hosseini expressed hope: “May the day come when the number of writers increases alongside the quality of their work, and we can develop and promote the culture of reading, study, and writing within the Islamic society.”
He emphasized the necessity of creating a comprehensive database of authors and content collectors, stating: “If this connection increases, we can certainly implement this movement, which the Saman District Governor initiated, in other districts and at the county level.”
This work is one of the latest by Gholamreza Baktash, a poet and writer for children and young adults, which, with simple language and deep concepts, addresses topics such as freedom, hope, identity, responsibility, and endurance.
The poems in this book are composed in short and concise forms, and each, using literary imagery and beautiful similes, conveys a moral and human message.
