The book ‘Bloody Pen’ has been published
According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Khorramabad, in the cultural village of ‘Farash’, Ezzatollah Ghazavi, an 86-year-old farmer and a well-known figure in the region’s devotional literature, published his second work titled ‘Qalam-e Khoonin’ (Bloody Pen).
This collection includes Ashura poems, eulogies, and elegies for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and his travelogues, which, with an emotional perspective, take the reader to the depths of sorrow and the greatness of the Prophet’s (PBUH) family.
‘Qalam-e Khoonin’ is the result of years of Ta’ziyeh-navisi (playwriting for religious plays) and the poet’s devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). This work comprises over 300 pages of devotional poetry and draws from Ghazavi’s Ta’ziyeh-navisi scripts.
The book’s title, according to the poet, was inspired by the concept of ‘a pen that writes from the heart and is colored with the blood of truth.’
Ezzatollah Ghazavi, born in 1316 (1937/1938) in Farash, comes from a family of scholars and literati. Despite being engaged in farming, he has always pursued reading, poetry recitation, and Ta’ziyeh-navisi. His home library, with over 700 volumes, is considered a treasure trove of ancient works and cultural documents.
In recent years, Ghazavi has also showcased his works at the Tehran International Book Fair and has been well-received by the audience.
The book ‘Qalam-e Khoonin’ is not merely a collection of poems, but a living document of the bond between faith, culture, and literature in the heart of an ancient village; an embodiment of love dedicated to the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in the most beautiful way possible by a farmer-poet.
The book ‘Qalam-e Khoonin’, a collection of poems and travelogues by Ezzatollah Ghazavi, with 436 pages in quarto size, has been published by Havir Publications.
