God’s Invitation to See the Malakut is Humanity’s Ultimate Honor

According to the Mabaligh Think and Culture website, Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, in his weekly ethics lesson held at the Grand Mosque of Qom with various groups of people present, continued his explanation of the short sayings from Nahj al-Balagha. Referring to the luminous words of Amir al-Mu’minin (Imam Ali) in saying 184, “I have not doubted the truth since it was shown to me,” he stated: In this saying, His Holiness says: When the truth was shown to me, I never doubted it again. This statement by Amir al-Mu’minin shows that true knowledge is obtained through “presentation and observation,” not merely through teaching and discussion; and this seeing is not with the physical eye but with the eye of the heart.

According to a Shafaqna report, he emphasized: Just as humans acquire knowledge through apparent channels such as eyes and ears, they can also attain truths through inner channels. God has provided two schools for humanity: one is the apparent school, whose path is open to all, and humans gain apparent knowledge through education and research in seminaries and universities; the other is the inner school, which leads to truth through self-purification, refinement, and purity. Combining these two paths, namely apparent knowledge and inner vision, is possible and desirable.

He added: Humans have two types of seeing: sensory seeing and heartfelt seeing. In the realm of dreams, we also experience that the human soul has its own special eyes and ears. Just as apparent knowledge is gained through effort and study, inner knowledge is achieved through purity and care in one’s gaze, listening, and actions.

Referring to the division of knowledge into the “path of the earthly realm” and the “path of the Malakut” (divine realm), he said: Lessons and experience make a person a scholar or a jurist, but the inner path makes a person a mystic and insightful. Not everyone succeeds in witnessing the Malakut, but God has opened its way to all; we must strive to “see”!

He stated that God has spoken to His servants in the Quran with the utmost politeness, adding: The Quran is a book of etiquette and shows full respect for humanity. God told us: (And follow the religion of your father Abraham), meaning you are the children of Abraham, the friend of God, and you must know your honor. There is no higher identity than what the Quran has mentioned for us; the Quran has greatly honored us.

Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli continued by referring to the noble verse (And thus did We show Abraham the Malakut of the heavens and the earth), stating: Just as God showed the inner reality of the world to Prophet Abraham, the children of Abraham are also commanded to look into the Malakut. The Glorious God told us: (Do they not look at the Malakut of the heavens and the earth?), meaning you too should look, or rather, see. This invitation to see the Malakut is the ultimate divine honor for humanity.
