`Children of Abshooran` Published
Morteza Hatami, in an interview with the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Ilam, said: After 7 years of research, the book `Children of Abshooran; A Study of Ali Ashraf Darvishian’s Children’s and Young Adult Works` has been printed and published.
He added: This book is the first independent work in the field of reviewing, analyzing, and criticizing all published books by Ali Ashraf Darvishian, the Kermanshahi writer, in the field of children’s and young adult literature, which has been printed and published in 4 chapters and 240 pages.
The author of the minimal story collection `Kolbaran of Bread and Toil` continued: This book consists of an introduction and 4 chapters as follows: Chapter One (Biography, opinions, and introduction of works, Darvishian from the perspective of others, etc.), Chapter Two (A look at children’s and young adult literature: definition, classification, history, goals, characteristics, etc.), Chapter Three (Review and analysis of works), which is the most important chapter of the book, and finally, a conclusion, results, and bibliography.
The author of the book `Corona: Fire Without Smoke` stated: Ali Ashraf Darvishian is one of the contemporary cultural, literary, and social figures with several specialized facets, and based on documentation, his continuous efforts and actions in various discussions have made him an influential figure, and he is one of the few writers who has had continuous activity and effort in various fields.
Hatami, referring to the limitations and difficulties of authoring this research work, noted: Most of Ali Ashraf Darvishian’s children’s and young adult books were published before 1978 or in the 1970s, and I faced difficulties in finding Darvishian’s rare books in children’s and young adult literature.
Hatami continued: Finding documented and reliable sources in research was one of the sweet difficulties of this scientific work, which was both attractive and tiring. Considering that the most important aspect of this work was finding several of Darvishian’s rare books, unfortunately, due to the social conditions caused by the spread of the coronavirus, it was not possible to travel to Tehran and visit the National Library or bookstores on Enghelab Street, etc. However, fortunately, most of the sources were available in my personal library, except for a few which I was able to find and purchase on various websites.
The author of the book `Sweet Salt` stated: With the widespread outbreak of Corona, it was not possible to travel to Karaj to meet with Darvishian’s family in person. If this meeting had taken place, it would have been possible to have a face-to-face conversation with his family members and obtain other sources and documents, which unfortunately did not materialize for various reasons. Nevertheless, this book was completed with all its ups and downs and difficulties.
He said: The book `Children of Abshooran` addresses the ideological dimensions and activities of Darvishian from social, cultural, literary, political, and media perspectives, and for this reason, this book, as an independent work focusing on the criticism, review, and analysis of Ali Ashraf Darvishian’s children’s and young adult books, can be used by researchers and scholars.
Aron Publications has printed and published the book `Children of Abshooran` in 240 pages at a price of 320,000 Tomans in recent days.
