Ronald David Laing’s “Knots” available in Persian
TEHRAN – Scottish psychiatrist Ronald David Laing’s “Knots” has been published in Persian. Maryam Farbod has rendered the book into Persian, and Cheshmeh Publications is the publisher.
“Knots” is a collection of poetic, often paradoxical dialogues, statements, and aphorisms that explore the complexities of human relationships and communication. Originally published in 1970, the work delves into themes of alienation, existentialism, and the ways in which individuals become entangled in psychological and emotional binds. Laing, a prominent figure in the anti-psychiatry movement, uses a unique literary style to challenge conventional views on mental illness and personal identity.
This is not the first work by Laing to be translated into Persian. His other influential books, including “The Divided Self” and “Self and Others”, have also been made available to Iranian readers, indicating a sustained interest in his philosophical and psychological contributions within the country’s literary circles.
