Ronald David Laing’s Knots available in Persian

TEHRAN – A Persian translation of Scottish psychiatrist R.D. Laing’s “Knots” has recently been published by Arghanun Publication in Tehran.

The book has been translated by Amir Hossein Tavassoli.

“Knots” is a collection of poems or prose pieces on relationships. Laing wrote it in 1969 to illustrate his ideas on the origins of disturbed patterns of communication.

Each ‘knot’ is a short dialogue, poem or aphorism, describing a relational situation in the context of human entanglements.

Laing (1927-1989) was a British psychiatrist who wrote extensively on mental illness and other subjects and who challenged many of the accepted orthodoxies of psychiatric practice.

His other books include “The Divided Self: An Existential Study in Sanity and Madness”, “Self and Others”, “The Politics of Experience and the Bird of Paradise” and “The Politics of the Family and Other Essays”.
