TEHRAN – Scottish psychiatrist Ronald David Laing’s book “Knots” has recently been published in Persian by Mahi Publications.
Translated by Farid Mahdavi-Damghani, the book has been released in 104 pages.
“Knots” is a collection of poetic dialogues and prose vignettes that explore the complexities of human relationships and communication, often highlighting paradoxes and dilemmas inherent in interpersonal dynamics. Published in 1970, it reflects Laing’s anti-psychiatry views and his focus on the experiential world of individuals.
Laing (1927-1989) was a prominent figure in the field of mental health, known for his critiques of conventional psychiatric practices and his emphasis on understanding mental distress within social contexts.
His other works translated into Persian include “The Divided Self: An Existential Study in Sanity and Madness” and “The Politics of Experience and The Bird of Paradise.”
