Qeshm Hosts Book and Library Festival During Book Week
The enchanting island of Qeshm is set to become a hub for literature and knowledge as it prepares to host the highly anticipated Book and Library Festival. This event coincides with the nationwide Book Week, aiming to promote reading culture and expand access to literary resources across the region.
Organized by local cultural institutions and the National Library of Iran, the festival promises a diverse range of activities. These include book exhibitions showcasing both classic and contemporary Persian and international works, interactive workshops for children and young adults, and dedicated sessions for authors to engage with their readers.
A central theme of this year’s festival is the celebration of local authors and the rich literary heritage of the Persian Gulf region. Several established and emerging writers from Qeshm and neighboring areas are expected to present their latest works and participate in panel discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing regional literature.
Furthermore, the festival will highlight the importance of public libraries as community centers for learning and cultural exchange. Special programs are planned to encourage library membership and demonstrate the various resources and services offered by local libraries, from digital archives to specialized reading groups. Officials anticipate a significant turnout, fostering a vibrant intellectual atmosphere on the island.
