Practical Workshop on Producing Book Catalogs with the Help of Artificial Intelligence

The National Library of Iran, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, announced a practical workshop focused on “Producing Book Catalogs with the Help of Artificial Intelligence.” The workshop aims to equip librarians and publishing professionals with advanced tools for efficient cataloging.

Revolutionizing Cataloging

This intensive two-day workshop will cover various AI applications, including natural language processing (NLP) for metadata extraction, image recognition for cover art cataloging, and machine learning models for predictive categorization. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises and learn to implement AI solutions in their daily workflows.

Dr. Fatemeh Zahraei, Head of Digital Initiatives at the National Library, stated, “Integrating AI into book cataloging is no longer a luxury but a necessity. It promises to significantly reduce manual labor, enhance accuracy, and make our vast collections more accessible to the public. This workshop is a crucial step in modernizing our library services.”

The workshop is open to librarians, publishers, booksellers, and anyone interested in the intersection of technology and information management. Registration is now open on the National Library’s website, with limited seats available.
