First Book Advisory Council Formed in Kashmar

The first Book Advisory Council has been officially formed in Kashmar, Razavi Khorasan Province, with the aim of promoting reading culture and supporting literary activities in the region.

According to the Iran Book and Literature House News Agency (IBNA) from Razavi Khorasan, this council, comprised of local officials, cultural experts, librarians, authors, and educators, will serve as a platform for strategic planning and coordination of initiatives related to books and libraries.

The head of the Public Libraries Department of Kashmar stated at the inaugural meeting: “The formation of this council marks a significant step towards strengthening the literary ecosystem in Kashmar. We believe that by pooling expertise and resources, we can develop more effective programs to encourage reading among all age groups and enhance the quality of library services.”

Key objectives of the council include organizing book reading campaigns, facilitating access to diverse book collections, supporting local authors, and establishing partnerships with schools and cultural centers. The council will also focus on identifying challenges and proposing solutions to improve the overall status of reading and literacy in the city.
