First Book Advisory Council Formed in Kashmar
Kashmar has announced the formation of its first “Book Advisory Council,” a new body aimed at promoting reading, supporting local authors, and enhancing library services within the city.
According to IBNA, the council was established under the supervision of the Kashmar Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, with members comprising local literary figures, librarians, educators, and community representatives.
The primary objectives of the council include advising on book selection for public libraries, organizing literary events, workshops, and book clubs, and identifying ways to increase public engagement with books and reading activities.
The head of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance emphasized that the council would play a vital role in shaping Kashmar’s literary landscape and making reading more accessible and appealing to all demographics.
The inaugural meeting focused on developing a strategic plan for the upcoming year, with a particular emphasis on supporting emerging local writers and expanding digital library resources.
