Equipping Qom’s Village Libraries with Donated Books
Qom’s rural libraries are being equipped with a substantial donation of books to enhance access to reading materials in villages. According to the Iran Book and Literature House News Agency, this initiative, launched by the General Directorate of Public Libraries of Qom Province, aims to promote reading culture and provide educational resources in underserved areas. Thousands of volumes covering various subjects, including literature, science, history, and children’s books, have been collected through public campaigns and publisher contributions. The project is a collaborative effort between governmental organizations, local communities, and volunteers, demonstrating a commitment to bridging the knowledge gap between urban and rural populations. Officials expressed hope that these donations would encourage more villagers, especially children and teenagers, to engage with books and utilize library services.
