Equipping Qom’s Rural Libraries with Book Donations
The General Department of Public Libraries of Qom Province announced a successful initiative to equip rural libraries with thousands of donated books. This project aims to enhance access to reading materials for residents in underserved areas and promote a culture of reading across the province.
Over 5,000 volumes, covering a wide range of subjects from literature and history to science and children’s books, were collected through public campaigns and contributions from various publishing houses. The donated books will be distributed among 15 rural libraries, significantly boosting their collections.
Officials emphasized the importance of rural libraries as community centers that offer not only books but also educational programs and cultural activities. This initiative is expected to directly benefit thousands of villagers, including students and young adults, by providing them with new learning opportunities.
The program is part of a broader national effort to revitalize public libraries and make knowledge more accessible in remote regions of Iran.
