Bahabad Mobile Library: A Step Towards Spreading Knowledge in Deprived Areas

The Bahabad Mobile Library initiative is making significant strides in spreading knowledge and fostering a reading culture in deprived and remote areas, bridging the gap in access to educational resources.

According to the Iran Book and Literature House News Agency (IBNA) from Yazd, this mobile library program, operating in Bahabad county, aims to reach communities that lack permanent library facilities. A specially equipped vehicle travels to various villages and remote settlements, providing books, educational materials, and cultural programs directly to residents.

The supervisor of the Bahabad Mobile Library stated: “Our mission is to ensure that geographical isolation does not become a barrier to knowledge. The mobile library offers a diverse collection of books for children, adolescents, and adults, along with storytelling sessions, reading workshops, and literacy activities, creating an engaging learning environment wherever we go.”

The program has been met with enthusiastic reception from local communities, particularly children, who now have regular access to books and educational opportunities. This initiative is a vital step towards promoting equitable access to information and empowering residents in underserved regions through literacy and learning.
